Writing a Book

I have done similar to Kate. Start with your first ancestor and write his story, including their children and carry on from there. I have some that don't qualify for a chapter as I have very little info on them. So those that do, have their name underlined to show there is a chapter on them. Of course you can also include pics and documents.
If you would like to PM me with your email address I could send you a chapter of mine to give you some ideas.

If you are using the family tree software from the Mormon website (free) there is an option on it that puts all the information from your family tree into a book format. I have used it to create a book for my daughter and must say it is quite simple to do.

Don't know if it's any use, but one of my family branches was getting too big to all fit on the same page of my website, so what I did was to have a "roots" page for that surname with details about the furthest back ancestor, and then below him I put a list of his children.

For the children who had no descendents, I just put their baptism details on the same page as the "roots page", but for the ones who did have further family, I made each name into a link to another page, on which there is information on the relevent child and their family.

So you could do an introductory chapter - say "John Smith (1740-1800)" then list his children and then have subsequent chapters for each child ie. "Family of Joseph Smith (1761-1830) and his wife Mary Brown", "Family of Mary Smith (1763-1800) and her husband George White".
