I've just found a Kathleen J Wood marrying a Douglas Belcher in the December quarter of 1942 (vol 2a pg 755) - wonder if that's the one? It would tie up with what Richard found.

This looks as if it might be Kathleen's death (same date of birth, same area):

... so now at least you have some surnames with which to match up potential marriages or to look up the children's births.

Have you tried writing to the local newspaper? I've done that before and I've had a couple of people who came back to me saying they remembered the names I mentioned.

In fact, looking at the ages of the ladies you mentioned, they might even still be around to see it.

I have two birth certificates

Kathleen,Joan Wood. Born 23/05/24 at 59,Longfellow Road,Worcester Park,Cheam,Sutton. I understand she was known as Joan.

Gladys,Patricia Wood. Born 23/09/1931 at 59,Longfellow Road,Worcester Park,Cheam,Sutton. I understand she was known as Pat.

Can someone tell me the best way at finding out other information on these two ladies. Marriages,Deaths etc.

I believe Pat moved to Swindon and had five Children. 4 x sons & 1 x daughter.

Joan stayed in Sutton and had 3 x children John,Susan and Leslie.

I have searched other trees. Can anyone advice me where I should go from here.
