Hi all
I am in a bit of a quandry I have FTM 2006 and 2008 but I am not happy with them I have looked at legacy but it is much the same I am now thinking of WDYTYA family tree maker, my question is, is there a difference or is it a case of a tree program is a tree program is a tree program?
Any thoughts?

What are you wanting the program to do that FTM doesn't do for you now?

This will depend on what to recommend.

To be Honest Ozibrd I don't know what I want just a bit fed up with FTM I think probably because I am brick walled and can't do any thing at the present, maybe if I start a new tree from scratch untill something breaks.
Thanks for the reply guys.

I use both FTM and Genopro - two different types of programs with different types of reports. You can try Genopro for free at www.genopro.com.

I've got a program called GenSmarts which searches through your records in FTM & brings up a list of what & where to look for next. I've found it quite useful when I'm stuck.

It takes me off on a tangent & I get all enthusiastic again.

Are you a member of Ancestry - I have put my tree on there and find it very helpful for printing up family tree's. I also have FTM so with the two I manage to do what I want. Also Family Search Family Tree facility is free to download and very good. Irene

The WDYTYA is FTM!

I cant see why you dont like them, Ive got 2006/08 and 09 but I tend to use FTM 2006 most of the time. If you are brickwalled a change of tree program isnt going to help you.

FTM 2006 is one of the best and most comprehensive programs there is. There are others and no doubt people will have their favourites too.

We all hit blanks at some time, but changing your tree program isn't going to help you knock down the wall.

Try posting some detail of where you are stuck on here and see if anyone can turn up something for you.
