Hello,

I am trying to trace a lady who went to live in Canada in 1958. As the privacy rules are so strict it is difficult to find any info re marriages etc for this person. So I was wondering if there would have been any records in this country for her migration. I know she travelled on the Empress of France and I have a copy of the passenger list, but I am wondering if she would have had to fill in any paperwork in the UK before migration, and if so if this info is available and where from. I know she left the UK with the intention of settling in Canada, possibly reuniting her with a soldier fiancee. Are there any historical passport application records that might help?

Thank you.
