There's no Jacob Hiller on Ancestry but there is a Jacob Frederick Heller. Is this your GG grandfather?

His naturalisation papers are held at the National Archives and will give you a lot of additional information. My German Great Great Grandfather had to supply a lot of information about his family which proved invaluable to me. :

Home Office: Registered Papers, Supplementary
HO144/304/B4928
Nationality and Naturalisation:
Hiller, Jacob Frederick, from Germany. Resident in Durham.
Certificate A5893 issued 14 September 1888.

You can purchase a copy online and view it within moments on:
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/youroptions/your-options.asp?requestthis=HO+144%2F304%2FB4928&linkback=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Enationalarchives%2Egov%2Euk%2Fcatalogue%2FDisplayCatalogueDetails%2Easp%3FCATID%3D5069901%26CATLN%3D6%26FullDetails%3DFalse&CATID=5069901&CATLN=6&FullDetails=False&UserType=0

However, if you were able to visit the Archives in Kew, Surrey, you may find other supporting papers too.

Paul, I've tried looking for my grandfather's Naturalisation details and not had any luck with the Nat Archives site, I just don't find it easy to use. I'm probably doing something really stupid, but cannot fathom it - could you point me in the right direction please......ie, would you be kind enough to give me idiot's instructions!!
K
P.S. Would it be that there is a 'closure rule' on such docs, so I can't find reference? My grandad was Naturalised approx 1946/1948.
