I may have a step-sister but I don.t know where to

I have just found out I may have a step sister from an affair my father had in 1946. Where would I begin to find her. All the relatives that may have known about it are sadly gone now and I have very little information to go on. Help please.

So she would be your half sister not your step sister.
Do you know her name? If not you could try to search for every child born around that time with your father's surname. If she wasn't registered in your dad's name and you don't know her name then its almost impossible to trace her. Sorry
