Alan, you could try checking if said Arnold was made to pay any maintenance for William - ask the local archives if they have Bastardy Bond Records.

"K"...........it could be the one who did naughties with my Gt G/mother. Location is right and coal mining in area is common...............he may even be my Gt Gt G/fthr.

Researching my probable(can't be sure) Gt G/father, William Molyneux who was born illegitimate in April 1832, Worsley. to Arnold Farnsworth/Ann Molyneux. Can't find Arnold in 1841/51 census. Only info I have is from a Church Record and would like to know if Church Records show any additional information from that which is available on-line?
