Could somebody please tell me why I can't print off the first page of census returns as it shows on screen? I don't mean the actual image but the printout relating to an individual. All I get, after the Genes logo and other headings, is search results at the bottom of the page. It gives the information but is only the bottom quarter of the page. There used to be a clear print out with the previous layout.

I always copy and paste it into notepad, then I can save and print at leisure.

Have just come across something else. When I do print off the first page it shows "Census Record: John Smith". I initially thought this must be the head of household and that my ancestor had moved with his employer but nothing shows on the return. Is this John Smith a transcriber do you think?

As far as I know, when it says Census: Name, it should be the name that you searched for. Not the head of household. There are mistakes though. If you find one, you should let GR know so that they can check it out and possibly amend the index.

Yuli - it comes up when you try to print the info on the person you are looking for (the image which is printed on the scroll). The name "John Smith" - against Census Record does not appear on any of the census returns nor the scroll but only on the print-out. It's appeared on three different census print-outs.

It also prints out two more pages of GR info when the information you want only amounts to a quarter of a page!

Will be out until this evening if you or anybody else can help.

someone did a look up for me, cant print out info, use to before change, am i doing something wrong??
