It depends son whether you want to look at Crown Court records or Magistrate's Court records.

I don't know anything about Crown Court records but I know you can look at Magistrate's Court records as long as they are over 30 years old. They should be at the local archives for the area you are interested in.

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if anyone can help me out or not. There are two things I need help with and I'm not sure where to look, so I thought I'd give a try and posting a message here.

I'm looking for court records from the 1940s (UK), is it possible to somehow obtain these? Also, I need to know where someone lived in 1947, but again, hitting a brick wall. I guess I'm kind of new at all this. And I'd also like to find out if a relative went to prison at one point. If anyone can help me on any of these subjects, thanks.
