How can I find out how many babies my mother had?
Bettween the years of 1944 and 1977 approx.
I wish to find all the babies registered, born to Doris Joyce Powell. Her surname was Markow at one point.
She married a couple of times.. dont know what there surname's were. I would be very grateful for some help.. regards to all.x

If you have nothing to indicate when she married you would have to search through the BMD registers for her marriages in the relevent area then search for any births to those unions not forgetting any children born prior to marriage. Second marriages sometimees appear under both maiden name and previous married name.

If the district she lived in was one of those which subscribes to the BMD project (e.g. Cheshire) that should be quite possible. Where did she live?

Was Powell her maiden name? When and where was she born?

I'm guessing that she is no longer alive..............what was her surname when (if) she died?

You need firstly to establish what her married names were......and in which time period she was using the names.

Any search for possible offspring would be pointless until you have that info..................
