I agree, I have subscription to ancestry.co.uk also genes reunited. however,
I always wish I had a sub to other sites. eg the full Ancestry.com although at the time I didn't think I would use it.. Also find my past, and Times newspapers on line.

You know, these only come up now and again but it still makes you wish you had them. I am now into crew lists. but cant get them on the sites I am on. Only incoming on Ancestry.

There is no such thing as the "Best" genealogy site.

No two sites are the same, each has strengths and weaknesses and different types of records you can access.

It all depends on who you are looking for, where they lived and when.

I have never heard of that website. But ancestry www.ancestry.co.uk is very good. You can search 1841-1901 census for England, Scotland and Wales. And I think you can for the Channels Islands and Isle of Man. They have different subscriptions, the lowest I think is about 12.00 for a month subscription. I am going to do that soon, after the new year. You can also search Birth, Marriages and Deaths as well upto about 2006 I think. The 1911 census for Dublin, Ireland is available online, they are added more counties soon. They will also add the 1901 census, for all the counties soon as well. This is currently free. Sorry I can't be much help regarding the other website. The Ancestry website has a worldwide subscription as well for places like America and Canada.

Does anybody subscribe to originsNetwork? I live in Portugal and need to do all my searches online. I have found a few ancestors on the census on here, but as most if not all my ancestors come from London, Essex, And originally Scotland or maybe Ireland (I'm a McDonald) I was wondering wether OriginsNetwork was worth a Subsciption or is there a better site, Though I have Limited funds.
Thanks for your help
