I think it is since they changed the website.

I've just had a message from a lady saying that she had lost access to my tree.......we've been in touch with each other for almost a year now and I've never closed my tree to her. My tree was open to her yesterday but sure enough when I looked tonight it had the "Access" box displayed.
Strangely enough the lady just told me yesterday that she'd just discovered that all of the people that she was sharing her tree with had in fact somehow been denied the access and she had to go through her contacts one by one to reinstate their access - what is going on here - weird ?

RomanyStar that is what I was thinking, what are we paying for??? that is the exact message I get coming up. But when I searched for someone on someone's tree it never worked so I searched for er husband, and it worked. It is the site, not your computer. Bilbo, I never knew about that emergency cover thing. There are a lot of thing I don't know, especially in family history! As I have a tree off tis site on my computer, it doesn't bother me that much, until I need to use this tree on here to work out connections with other people's trees!

It has been happening to me and someone else on here that replied to my thread about it, try searching for the spouse, or parents or children of the person, it comes up for me.

Oh right, hopefully we'll be back to normal soon then. :-))

Hi,

I've been having this problem too for a couple of weeks now. It is probably just the sheer number of people trying to use the site at the same time as it is always worse at busy times.

It is always bad just after Christmas

The entire internet is running slow and has been since 25th December. Not surprising really with all those new 'puters trying to connect

Also if there are technical problems and servers go out there is no one on hand to fix it, as the IT techies only have emergency cover until at least the 5th Jan, and often the 12th before they are back in full swing.

Thanks David. Maybe Genes would like to tell us exactly what we're paying for? Because my tree is no good to me on here. Any name I type in, I eventually get a message saying 'Your query is taking too long to complete.' Charming!!

If you get your tree up and enter a name in the search boxes, does it take ages to load? For example, if you have 12 John Smith's, does it take time for the John Smith options to come up? Trying to work out if its this site or my PC.
