I've found what appears to be his regiment thru his sons birth certificate on

it says
William Alfred Chevis corp. (corporal) 9th E.D.R.G.A - which i believe is the Eastern Division Royal Garrison Artillery..

is there anyway to trace where Williams movements were, where he was stationed during his service? the record shows him at Fort William, Calcutta in 1899.

Some is on ancestry or Kew have the originals,
If you put name and birth up we can have a quick search for you ?

Hi, just wondering if anyone can tel me if its possible to trace a persons military records? where they were, regiment or naval vessel, etc. is it available online or would this require an in person visit to HO.

any help would be much appreciated
