I am led to believe that a close male relative of mine may have had a daughter out of wedlock, and not with his wife. Is it possible to trace such a person? Obviously I don't want to give any details as this lady will still be alive. I believe she may have been born in Scotland. Is it possible to trace her, or do I just admit defeat and think of her as being the one that got away?

Unfortunately, i'm only relying on family hearsay and speculation. I don't even know her name! I guess its one of those things where I'll never know. Thanks for your help.
