Does anyone know if there is anyway of viewing Royal Navy records as late as WW2 please? All I have to go on is name, dob, and he was actually serving in 1942.

You can't view these records online. You would have to send off for the records and pay for them.

Royal Navy service records are not available online,nor anywhere else, in fact all records prior to 1972 were given to the person on their discharge from the Navy.However the Royal Navy did retain certain records but not much.
