access to someone else's tree, how to search it?

I have been given access to someone's tree and have managed to open it [hurray] .
But when I type in my ancestor's name and click on the "search this tree" to search on their tree nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong? Has anyone else had this happen?

Hi Krissie,
Are you spelling the name the same way as your contact? sometimes an E instead of an I, or something simple like that.

Hi Gill,
The name is David Jones so I don't think that's the problem.
Does it work OK when you do it?
Krissie.

Try typing in just Jones without the name and date.

I havn't tried it today, but it usually works ok. Where your contact list is have you tried clicking on David Jones in the middle of the line if you know what I mean, I think it has worked for me that way at times, or the name above the message they have sent you.

Hi Krissie,

What flavour of computer system are you using i.e. is it Windows, or Mac, or some other system?

I've been having a similar problem that seems to affect non-Windows systems.

Hi Denis,
It's a Microsoft system but I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser.

Gill - I know what you mean, I'll give it a try.
Just tried it and it worked!!

Thanks everyone.

Glad your problem's fixed, Krissie.

I'm still wrestling with my one - any family tree is displayed in a way that prevents you being able to search it, the Search fields are covered by the Flash display of the tree.

I believe it affects Macs and Linux systems, but not sure about that.
