Hello can anyone suggest where i can find where my grt grt grandfathers first name originates from. On his son Thomas's birth certificate 1867 he states his name as Coloexter George Brown, on the 1851 census he is there aged 5yrs with his mother Ann, brother Frederick and sister Ellen. But on his marrige certificate 1866 he is down only as George Brown. It appears on other census he drops the name Colextor.
Can anyone suggest where this name could have originated from please.
