Can any one work out for me what relationship I am to my Grandmothers brother.

I don't know Natasha I wanted to send for his records from the National Childrens Home and they need to know my relationship to him and my mind has just gone blank

Yes, he is your great uncle - you are his great niece.

He would be uncle to either your mother or father.

Not great uncle, but grand uncle methinks and having checked a similar chart to the one mentioned above.

He could be called grand uncle, but that term is usually used by Americans, whereas in England it is normally great uncle.
