Hi David

Thank you very much for this link.

It looks like it may give me a few answers.

Hello

My husbands GGrandfather Richard Hancock was a special Constable in Birmingham.

We have his truncheon dated 1916-1919. I am unable to find any information about the Special constabulary.

The Police Museum at Sparkhill West Midlands have no records for the constabulary so cannot help me.

I would be very grateful if anyone knows of any books on the subject or where I could find information on what they did or if they wore a uniform.

Thank you

Shirley
