Several things to try to get rid of it...not a waste of time if it doesn't as the following should be done on occasion as part of your routine PC maintenance. First empty your COOKIES and TEMPORARY INTERNET folders.

Second, download and install AD-AWARE. A free program to remove spyware and adware. (There is also a pay for version.) Once the program is installed restart your PC in SAFE MODE and then run the AD-AWARE program. By running your PC in SAFE MODE you are turning everything off except for the programs that run your PC. If the offending program that keeps popping up is "working" in the background, SAFE MODE turns if off and allows for easy removal.

AD-AWARE can be found here:

http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

If you need further instruction on how to put the PC in SAFE MODE (it's easy!) just give a shout.

I had something very similar to this. Because my son-in-law wasn't available at the time(!) I had a home visit from a Computer Services chap. He said its a con to make you pay, but not harmful. He did something which cleaned it out and then installed Free AVG (instead of my existing anti-virus) which is good at intercepting and dealing with these. Have had no more problems. Might be worth installing the AVG anyway.

Try Super Anti Spyware, you can download it for free from File Hippo.

Download any updates then run a scan. Remove any rogue software it finds.

I have used this software before when the usual methods of removing malware / spyware have failed. At least one user forum suggests this might work for Internet Antivirus pro

Nothing to loose.

Otherwise it looks like a manual removal, which really needs someone who knows what they are doing with computer systems, as it involves deleting files and editing the registry which if done incorrectly, can trash your PC's operating system

Hi all, It's not in my control panel to remove so I think it's not installed but still can't get rid of the pop-up, it's constantly there.
This free Rogue remover that Gary has advised I have tried & when I go to run it I get a Warning that there's no signiture & it's from an unknown publisher so best not do that one?
The other one to remove Internet antivirus pro says to pay so I don't know whether to trust that by paying online.
I run a scan last night & had 1 cookie they said was low risk & I removed it,I don't think it's installed on here but can't get rid of pop-up.
Thank-you all, Jackie.

Often it's as easy to remove by going to the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM feature located in your CONTROL PANEL. Activate the feature, from the list of programs listed scroll and find the offending program to be uninstalled, click on it and follow the prompts to uninstall.

Does anyone know what I can do, every time I turn computer on before I go on the net I have a window comes up saying (Internet Antivirus pro) & I can't get rid of it, when you click it off it just comes up to send an error report to microsoft then just comes back again, it's driving me mad?
Thank-you, Jackie.
