These initials are next to the occupation which is Cotton Waste Sorter.

It is also next to the occupation of someone else on the page who is a Cap maker in a Cotton Warehouse, so it is something to do with the cotton industry.

No idea - child of parents!!!!!!!! I am sure someone will come up with something more sensible but it is the only thing I could think of. Irene

I wonder if any one can tell me what C.O.P. means by an entry on the census form, next to a child's name.
