Dear all

Just wanted to apologise - once Keith told me where to find the percentages I thought that was the end of the replies and switched off. I normally like to make sure I respond and thank.

So....just to conclude, I think the marriage is of George W Raymond in Kings Norton in Sept 1963. George was born in Kings Norton in 1842 so I've also ordered the birth certificate.

The marriage of Emma Frost and George Rayond is their son.

It's interesting because I was brought up in Birmingham and my mother, born in London will be surprised to learn that it all went full circle from Birmingham to London and back again!

Thanks again
x

Yes you should pay attention to how much is transcribed. E.g., FreeBMD shows:

Marriages Jun 1887 (47%)
Pheby Mary Newcastle T. 10b 72
Thirlaway George Newcastle T. 10b 72

but note that over half the index for that quarter is missing, and this includes the spouses of the two entries shown.

Fortunately, in this particular case, the parish register was extracted to the IGI, and the entries there show:
Mary Pheby a=50 d/o Christopher Carbas marr 3/5/1887 at All Saints NuT Robert Brown a=62 s/o George Brown
George Thirlaway a=27 s/o William Thirlaway marr 11/4/1887 at All Saints NuT Martha Bagnall a=24 d/o Robert Bagnall

Think you are confused. It's George Albert's mother who is Mary Ann Marston.

Marston Mary Ann Kings N 6c 592
Raymond George William Kings N. 6c 592

Alison, where would they have married.
I have access to transcripted marriages from 1866 to 1920

KeithInFujairah Report 14 Jan 2009 16:18

PS have tried it and cannot find the marriage. Maybe not transcribed yet.
If you check on the hompage, it will give a link "Information" if you click that and scroll down, it will give coverage charts for the events.

If you see a gap in the coverage, it will be worth checking those gaps on the complete index.

Hi, the pasted info is taken from FreeBMD, and shows the percentage of records transcribed for that quarter/event.

I am looking for a marriage between George Albert Raymond and Mary Ann Marston. George was born in 1877. Now I know that if I ask this question on here, someone will come up with a match that normally has a certain % above it. What search are you using to get this? I don't actually want to know the answer, just how to go about it a bit easier than trawling all the marriage listings. I do have the Ancestry subscription.

Thanks
