Hi

Had a quick look on Ancestry as you said you had no trace at all of this chap, I have found the following:

from FREE BMD:

Thomas Fieldhouse married Harriett Thomas in June quarter 1860

William Thomas born Mar quarter 1862 (however there is another William Fieldhouse who was born in Newport Salop in 1858 and he keeps popping up confusing the issue.

1841 Census :

Thos Fieldhse 55 blacksmith, Elizabeth, wife age 45, children: Eliza 20 dressmaker, Sarah 14, Thomas (Wm's DAD) 11 and Elizabeth 8

1851 Census:

Thos 65 and Elixabeth 58, Thos Junior 21 and Ann Growcock 8 granddaughter

1861 census

Thomas and Harriet with NO children

1871 Census

Thomas 41, Harriett 41 children Samuel J 6 and Sarah Elizabeth 4 (no WIlliam)

1881 Census

Sarah Thomas Widow 70 - Harriett's Mum
William Filedhouse age 19 grandson

I agree no trace after this at all but I would expect transcription errors on the name - Fieldmouse etc

Hope this helps

You can search the census for free
www.1911census.co.uk

its not complete yet, although there are 7 people listed with William Fieldhouse as part of their name born around 1860

I doubt anyones going to be willing to pay to view a transcript or orginal for you, as it is only accessable on a pay as you go basis at the moment.
