is there any way i can find out who mary ann bates married in sept 1910 vol 10b 563 reg castle w i have tried the fbm page and typed in the vol numbers etc as i was hoping to find she married a person surname nixon

There is obviously one person mistranscribed or not yet transcribed on FreeBMD, as there are only three people shown for that Dist/Page. As I don't know which gender Harding Spoor is, I can't say if the missing person is male or female. I would suspect that Harding was a male and that the missing person is a female. This would mean that Mary married either Harding Spoor or Robert Falconer.
However, I have seen where these typed indices have been transcribed later, introducing typos, such as wrong page (doh!!!), so anything is possible.
Therefore, if you sure a Mr.Dixon is involved, there is a James H Dixon (Sept 1910 vol 10b 523 District: Castle W) that may be worth checking.

thanks every one i was hoping to find her married to a nixon as i have my grand parents marriage certificate (my fathers parents) they married march 1918 she married harry howard and her name on the marriage certificate is mary ann nixon (widow) her fathers name is george william bates tried every thing to find bates to nixon marriage thanks brenda

I had a similar problem and like you I knew a bride's father's name but just couldn't find the correct previous marriage.
I eventually found that the marriage cert I had was for the woman's 3rd marriage, not the 2nd.
Could this be the case here perhaps?

Another thought...
Any later children born to Mary Ann should mention any of her previous surnames on their birth certificate.
ie.Mary Ann HOWARD, late NIXON (formerly any other name)

Hi ericthered you have the right dates for the marriage of Nixon to Howard mar 1918 as i have the marriage certificate .They only had one son together my father Harry he was born 01 08 1918 . As i have been researching this part of the family i am sending for a death certificate for Mary Ann Howard who died the last qtr 1918 as i believe this to be my fathers mother this might give me abit more information .but i still cant understand why i cant find a marriage for Mary Ann Bates to a person with the surname Nixon .As i said before she was stated as a widow on her marriage to Howard,Any help to find the marriage Bates to Nixon would be grateful many thanks to you all Brenda
