	My grandma, Mary, was always known as Polly. However, she had a cousin called Polly who really was Polly - it says so on her birth cert. K

	Polly is normally Mary Ann but there are no rules for names :)

	My gandmothers sister....... registered as Margaret 1869..... later known as mary by 1891 census and then Polly towards the end of her life...... Nicky

For example, Polly, Patsy, Peggy, and Nancy are actually nicknames for Mary, Martha, Margaret, and Ann, respectively. apparentl;y, but I didnt know that!!
