OUT OF SEVERAL CHILDREN MY GRT GRANDFATHER JOHN FREDERICK HEDLEY b1848 COXHOE DURHAM NO EXACT PLACE ONLY 20.4.1848 .6HR.0m..i'm assuming that was the time of day.. SUB DISTRICT OF SAINT NICHOLAS..(PARENTS LIVED IN GOOLE) ALL THE REST WERE BORN IN GOOLE AREA WHERE THEY ALL LIVED..HIS PARENTS MICHAEL THREADGOLD HEDLEY b1824 HULL MOTHER JANE ELLIS b 1826 SWINEFLEET LINCS..ALTHOUGH I HAVE GOT HIS BIRTH CERT CAN'T SEMM TO MAKE A CONNECTION ON EITHER SIDE..HOW CAN I FIND A CONNECTION WITH DURHAM AREA..EILEEN

Did the family have to move for a while due to work commitments?
Maybe you should work backwards very grandually (getting certificates etc) to discover if a connection came from Durham years beforehand.

What information have you got - you give no dates or names. If GGF was the first born it may well be mum went back toher mum for the first confinement. Do you have GGP's marriage certificate?
