I bought a book today, its a true story using police notes, witness statements and other archive material, about the murder of a three year old boy called Saville Kent in 1860 in his home Road Hill House, Wiltshire

It lists all the people in the large mansion at the time, including servants......and a couple of the names listed are on this site.

I have contacted the people concerned.

So excited...suppose they don't know about the book or that their relatives were there at the time of the murder......if that was me I'd be beside myself.

Just waiting for some answers.

Sounds good, I might have to get a copy. I've just finished reading Shadows of the Workhouse which OH got me for Xmas. Actually, I finished reading it on 2nd Jan and it would have been quicker if I hadn't been working on 27th, 29th 30th and 31st Dec and socialising on 25th, 26th and 28th. But OH thinks that a book should last longer.

I work in a Charity shop and scrutinise any donations of old books for names in the fly. I then make a note and see if I can find their relations on here. I'd like to think that if anyone found my ancestors name in a book they'd do the same for me. I haven't had a success yet but I did have a guy come to my shop to get a book as he was doing a one name study and would see if he could return it to its rightful owner.

One day...................
