Family Bible - Can I?

Hi all, hope someone can answer this, i've heard of family bibles but dont really understand what they are, have heard that they contain a family tree of sorts.

what i'd like to know is where do i get a blank one to start for my future generations

Many years ago lots of families had large bibles in the house & often they wrote down the BMD's on the front or back page.

All you would need is a large bible from a bookshop

so its an actual bible then, i thought it was a blank book, lol
