Can you get copies of birth (and other) certificates somehow pre-1837? Do they have them at Kew? Anywhere online?

I've looked at familysearch. I've got date and place of birth, but was hoping to get the other useful information such as parents' names and some of their details.

There are no certificates, as such, pre 1837.

If you've found the record on Familysearch, and if it is a transcribed record - it will have a film number at the bottom of the screen. You can order the film in to your local LDS church and view the transcriptions. That should give you parents' names, an address and dad's occupation.

You can also search for siblings by clicking on the film number and putting in the surname - that might help.

And check the "Records Office" thread (in the list to left of this) you might

find someone offering look ups.

There are volunteer online parish clerks for Cornish parishes, the system originated in Cornwall, and in other counties, too. There is a Suffolk site in which people do look-ups. Try googling for the parish that you want in case people are doing look ups, and look at the Mormons' familysearch.org

Depending on the area, they may be an online Parish Clerk - try Googling.
