good morning...I am led to believe(need proof) that my 4 x g grandmother and 3 x g grandmother were born in a workhouse in Penistone Yorkshire
Margery Kay b 1827 3xgg in workhouse......her mother (no father)
Harriet Kay b abt 1805 4xgg in workhouse..her mother(no father)
Ann Kay b abt 1780 Penistone..5xgg...don`t know if Ann Kay was her married name or if she was Ann Kay at birth
any help with the workhouse or the Kay family from Penistone appreciated...I have also posted this on Rootschat...regards...allan

According to the site below there is no information before 1834.

Sheffield archives hold the records but it says virtually no local records survived.
