Is it possible to search the 1911 census on here? If not, do you know when it will be?

The 1911 is only available on Pay as you go at the moment. We are not expecting it to appear on GR or Ancestry for a long time.

The 1901 census only became available on ancestry etc when the 1911 was about to be realeased.

I think it will be some considerable time before the 1911 census has acess through other sites... especially as there is still information that cannot be released under the 100 year rule (the infirmity/disability information) This cannot be available until 2012, so I suspect that any bid that ancestry, etc put in will not be considered until 2013 at the earliest.

Sorry Christine, but I don't think you've gotten that quite right!!

The 1901 census has been available for years on Ancestry - other sites may only just have got it but it's been available to the public for years now.

You cannot search the 1911 census from this site.

Go to Google (or another search engine) and search for 1911 census - there is only one site you can view from at the moment - it MAY become available to other sites at some point in the future, if they pay for it, but for now you can only view it through the official site.

Searching is free, viewing transciptions or originals are expensive though.
