Hello, could anyone answer a question I have. Having recently found some ancestors travelling between South Africa and the UK in 1902 and 1908, I wonder if they would have needed a passport (they were British citizens), if there is a record of this and whether the record can be accessed/viewed? I don't know when passports would have come into full use. |

Passports not used frequently until made compulsory in 1915. National Archives have some records to 1914 that are indexed - Google National Archives and passports. |
