When ordering online it always gives a target desptach date. I usually add upto a week onto this.

Ordered 3 certificates that were targeted for despatch on 2 feb and got them today. Normally about 10 days for the standard delivery but i have had occassions in past where they have completely overlooked an online order and when phoned they apologise and send them out priority.

I think as to whether the certicates come in the same or separate envelopes appears a lottery. All certificates ordered to date have always been in separate envelopes. I do not think it matters whether they are al the same type or a mixture of BMD's. Todays batch which was 3 births came in separate envelopes.

Both me and my sister ordered certs the same day about 15 mins apart. My sister lives with me, and she got hers today, but no sign of mine!!! wierd or what!! lol.

Oh well always tomorrow.

Thanks Kath

And now with the snow, we'll never know since I'm sure there'll be no deliveries.

One person doesn't deal with the order for all of your certificates if they are for a mix of birth, marriage and death. They will all go to different departments or areas at the GRO, so it depends on how busy each area is as to when each certificate is sent out.

I felt flush once and ordered 7 certificates. They arrived in three lots. They had had problems with the last one which they ended up having to type the details because it wouldn't scan. (They'd tried three times unsuccessfully)

Hi Kate

I usually wait about 5 or 6 days. I guess what gets me though is that I ordered 3 certificates all at the same time, so what have I got one and not the others?

What delivery time did you specify? I remember when I rang them up when mine hadn't turned up, they said they wouldn't be considered "missing" unless they hadn't arrived ten days after the dispatch date. (If you've ordered through the GRO, they usually give you an estimated dispatch date - sometimes up to three days after you've ordered if it's not the priority service.)

So I left it ten days, then when they still weren't here, I phoned and they send new copies.

Thanks Kath, I hope I get them.

I really don't like the post office. Too unreliable. I thought it was bad in China, but I've actually found it to be worse here.

If you ordered from the GRO then I would phone them and ask. I have always found them very helpful.

Has anyone else had a problem with ordering certificates and then only recieving some of them.

I ordered three certificate over a week ago with cross refs. I've not had the money refunded back to my account and recieved one certificate but have still not got the rest of them. Just wondering what could have happened to them.

Has anyone else had these sorts of problems with the postal service. I've never held my breath where they're concerned since I've still not received the letter notifying me of my job interview that was two weeks ago. And some other mail that I've been told was sent but never got.

Any suggestions on how I chase these certificates up?
