Carol,

Rather than speculate, why not order his birth cert. to get the address of where he was born?

I KNOW MY FATHER WAS REGISTERED IN THE CHISLEHURST/BROMLEY DISTRICT OF KENT BUT HAVE NO PROPER DETAILS. HE WAS ILLEGITIMATE AND I WONDERED IF HE WAS BORN IN A 'LAYING IN HOME'. HE WAS BORN IN LATE 1915 AND I KNOW HIS MOTHER'S NAME. COULD ANYONE ADVISE ME ON HOW TO FIND . RECORDS OF THESE HOMES.? MIGHT THEY HAVE RECORDS OF PARENTAGE AND HOME AT TIME OF BIRTH?
AND CHASING A LONG 'STRING', WERE THERE ANY GERMAN PRISONERS OF WAR IN THAT AREA BEFORE CHRISTMAS 1914?
