I have the Regiment and army number for my Grt Uncle plus of course his name etc, is there anywhere I can find any information about his service online? Even to verify he did serve etc?

have you just tried goggling his name and regiment / army number?

I did this with a few people and found bits of info on there!

Thanks for the replies. He served from 4/2/1919 for about 10 years we think. Does that help any?

because he joined up after the war and most of his service was from 1920 onwards you may not find anything online,

You might just be able to search WW1 records on Ancestry.
If you dont have access, post the details and I/we will have a look.

Thanks so much for all your help everyone. His name is Thomas W. Nye, he joined the Black Watch Regiment on 4/2/1919 in Norwich. His army number is 2745368. He was born 1900 ish, married a lady called Ada in Greenwich in September 1929. Thats all I know, I'm afraid.

There is a registered One Name Study of the NYE surname.
Perhaps the researcher knows something about your man.?
