I'm fed up with all the adverts slowing down the response time. It takes an age for anything to show. Not what I pay my subs for.

Sorry got that wrong. Two of my aunts appear to have been born in West Ham,Essex, Suffolk!

Well I finally found my birth. It took a bit of effort because they've used modern county boundaries in stead of the historical ones. So instead of West Ham being SW Essex it's coming up as Greater London Middlesex.

However, on the plus side I've found two births with the mothers maiden name the same as mine. So now I'm going to have to order one of the certificates. Last time I stumbled on a marriage in my name it turned out to be the daughter of a great uncle I didn't even know existed! Leading to me finding my great grandparents marriage in Le Havre. If I find out this is a child of my missing Jessie (She's born, then disappears of the face of the earth) I will be overjoyed.

Can't get births 1837 - 1916 even on the old system, it's driving me to insanity !!

Hi Basman

I don’t think you can go back and see the births as they were, if you can then I have missed something.

The two search systems are fine, I find the problem is when you are trying to go straight to a specific group of records, eg Pallotts. You often have to trawl thorugh lots of other stuff to find it. It was all so easy when most of the UK interests were listed under the search area.

At the top of ancestry search page there's a link you can use to go back to
"old search system" this takes you back to how it always was.

I don't like any of the new stuff, I would rather it stayed as it was. I have managed to live with the changes to this site but I really don't like the ones to Ancestry!

It is really annoying when it's playing up but I do like all the different areas I can research so I hope it's going go work better now.

I hope so Alison, i am soooooo close to cancelling my subscription at the moment, it hasn't worked well for quite a while now and i have really had enough. Might try FMP instead.

I know lots of people have had probs with ancestry, myself included, I think I know why. You can now attach birth records to the people in your tree, I've just added my uncle's and he was born in 1938, plus the search on the BMD is much easier so hopefully this means the problems will soon come to an end. Fingers crossed
