Thanks to all of you for your help. Looks like she slipped away from home to have her baby. Wouldn't have thought lodging houses would have been very keen to take in a very expectant mother. perhaps she was living in a rented flat. No chance of any useful records in existence. Another brick wall closing in on me!

Anthony is right, the address goes over 2 pages in 1881. 2nd page is a lodger.

Looks like multiple dwellings at this address.

Could be flats all under the same number. Be sure to check next page of that quoted above as there is another entry for 33 Millman St on this.

I've tried and failed to find the address 33 Millman Street, St Pancras, London on 1871 and 1881 census. I want to see who lived in the property as my g-grandmother Annie Louise Durham was born there on the 27th August 1874, father unknown. She was boarded from a baby by a couple in Somerset who were paid to bring her up, but told to never disclosed her parents, so is possibly a mother and baby home. Her mother was allegedy wealthy, and her father famous. The address is close to Great Ormand St. Hospital. Any ideas for finding out more? Her mother is listed as Amelia Durham.
