Hi

From birth certificate
Harriett Haines, born 29th Feb 1872, Bethnal Green.
Father Joseph (Occupation - Carman)
Mother Ann Wood (could be Word. Poor writing but favour Wood)

Although there are Joseph & Ann (Annie) Haines showing on 1871, 1881, & 1891 census there are no Harriets amongst any of the children

Harriet married Henry Coram, born 1871, Bethnal Green.
The marriage was in 1895. (Reg Dist Bethnal Green, Vol 1c p265)

Harriet can be seen in the 1901 census with Henry Coram. (RG13/295 Page 64)

Any help on where Harriet was from birth in 1872 to marriage in 1895 much appreciated.

Thanks - Tony

It certain appears that Emily could be Harriet. Odd that she's Emily on in 1891 too. There are no Emilys born that fit.

Do you have an address from the birth cert?

If she was born 29th Feb, the 1872 birth is more likely.

Hi Portland Rose

Address from birth certificate looks like:

2 Moss Street
Bethnal Green

Can't be 100% as the first letter of what looks like Moss Street is difficult to make out. Comparing this first letter with the word 'mother' also entered on the certificate it probably is an M.
Can't find a Moss Street in Bethnal green on Streetmap or Multimap but then again it may no longer exist.

Hi Mrs Bucket............

The first birth you mentioned in your previous post is the Harriet Haines for which I have the birth certificate.

Registered Q2 1872 1c 240 Bethnal Green

Although actual birth was 29 Feb 1872, it was not registered until 9 April 1872 putting it in Q2 of the indexes.

Googling for Moss Street Bethnal Green brings up a mention in the Charles Booth survey and a brief mention in the British History Online site, describing the post-war redevelopment in the 1940s and 50s.
