How do I delete the "extra" mother?

I used to know how to do this but can´t seem to remember.
I¨ve just added my partner on my tree and his family, now discovered I have extra box with Mother in it to which he is connected to as child. I should have been more observant with this but I wasn´t. Any one know how to correct this please?

If I am right you simply click on the Mother icon, then edit and delete relation.

Hi Jeffrey, yes that´s what I thought too, but it says "can´t delete multiple entries" or something like that. There is a box that says "change parents" but I can´t access that, but I´m sure in the past I used to do that. I know once I discovered a group of children born to the same father had in fact three different mothers e.g. father married 3 times. I easily was able to connect individual children to the correct mother by using the "change parents" button. It seems now I can´t do this, and I´ve entered too much info now to go back and remove each person in order to delete the extra mother. And I wonder why the "change parents" button is there if I can´t use it . Thanks for replying.

I had a similar situation recently. Usually it is no problem but somehow an entry developed a sort of loop. I explained the problem to GR and they fixes it.

I have just checked.
Your partner should show as having one father and two mothers?
Click on your partner/edit/change parents/right at bottom of page is a dropdown box which allow you to change parents.
If your extra mother is now not connected to anyone except her partner you should be able to delete.

Hi Jim & Thelma, thanks I have finally done it. Though last night nothing happened when I choose the correct one. When I´ve turned on PC now it seems to have made the correction, perhaps I needed to log out and log back in again. But many thanks for your help, saved me hours of work. Chica xx

For the future ref remember that GR automatically adds a blank unknown partner, so you don't need to add another. Go to the blank one and change the details to what they should be.
