I am still fairly new to genealogy and thoroughly enjoying it. Can anyone recommend a good Family Tree programme. I'm considering Family Historian or Family Tree maker 2009 though I've heard some bad reports on that.

I use genopro. I find it very simple to use and easy on the eye.

I use family tree maker but am still on the 2006 version and am quite happy with it.

Try FTM v16, sometimes known as 2006. costs under a tenner.

FTM 2008 is a completely different program altogether. Not to everyone's likings, but the the 2009 upgrade has apparently addressed some of the shortcomings with the original release.
