My gr.great grandfather, John Hinley, b 1831, Madeley Shropshire, died between 1856-1860 but cannot find death registration. There is a rumour that he may have died as a soldier, abroad, in the Crimean War. I have no evidence that he was a soldier, does anyone know where there might be records of casualties for that war?

Findmypast website has military deaths abroad but I'm not sure whether or not they have records for the Crimean War.

was on a site the other day, can't remember the site as i didn't save it. But if you put crimean war soilders in your search bar, you might come up with the site. I searched for mine, but they were not on it. Happy hunting.
