The Navy List is basically a yearly or sometimes quarterly book listing Naval Officers. You can follow a mans career by looking at each years edition. The documentsonline site has Naval Officers records and there is an Arthur M Wells which might be him. You can download his record from that site for £3-50.

Hello All,
While searching for an Arthur Montagu Wells I came across a google book, "The Navy List corrected to The 20th June, 1856" in which there is a section, "Lieutenants, with Dates of their Seniority"
In it there's an Arthur Montagu Wells.....22 Sept 1856.
Would anyone with military knowledge know how I can make use of this information to find out more about this Arthur?

Many thanks
Paul
