I know I would be grateful too if someone contacted me. I did find a photo of a woman c 1880 under the floorboards but no name. I've kept it just in case. Maybe more should try it.

I think it is a good idea Jan. The family may like to have photos of the house that their ancestors lived in if you would be willing to email some to them.

If you own the house and have access to the deeds they might like a list of names of previous owners too.

When I first started this hobby my husband took me to quite a few of the houses where my ancestors had lived and we took photos.

I think its a great idea, I'd love to hear from someone who now lives where my ancsetors once lived.

As I live in a house built in 1908 I decided to look it up on the 1911 census. After discovering the family that were living here then, I looked on Genes for anyone who might be searching that family to give them this additional info. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?
