The link Dugless gives only gets you vol 2 of the 3 vol 1844 ed.
I was able to locate a vol 3, but not vol 1. However, both vols of the 2 vol 1852 edition are online.

URLs
The book of the farm By Henry Stephens
1844 ed vol 2/3 of 3

There is a plaintext option, but (as is typical with books of this age), I wouldn't recommend it (unless you really want to read the chaper on FARM BOOBBEEPING p1341).

They've not shown the show in Canada yet, so the whole idea was new to me.
Thanks, Dugless.

Hi everyone, i ordered mine from the book people last week and paid £ 7.99 + p&p for it. Am waiting for it to be delivered in the next day or so. I can't wait because i found the programme so facinating as did my three children aged 12.10. and 5.

The link works for me Ann. The book has lots of illustrations about planting methods etc.

Don't know why it's not working for you - have you scrolled down the page?

Thanks for the link Dugless. My son will be interested in this as he is the one that told me about the programme.

Ann,

Just copy and paste the link Dugless had given. I have just spent an amazing time reading some of the book. (Some of it is rather gruesome!)

Good job I have already had my lunch!

Elisabeth

Edit. Forgot to say 'thank you' Dugless!

If you have been watching The Victorian Farm to find out what all your aglab ancestors did, then you can read The Book Of The Farm, their reference book now out of copyright, at this address:
