Where did you get his parents details from - birth cert, marriage cert?

I don't see a marriage for a John Sankey and a Celia.

No neither do I.

There is a Samuel Sankey who could've married a Celia, & that's a possibility.

There is this remote possibility but as yet I haven't found them in another census.

Could be the information on the memorial is inaccurate because it was from Florence and Thomas' parents were both dead. I think you need to purchase his birth cert.
