You might also try papers from the ports of departure and (non-) arrival.

Hi Michael,
I think the name was La Crescenta, found this in hansard

Loss OF OIL-TANKER "LA CRESCENTA."
HC Deb 19 February 1935 vol 298 c163 163

§ 18. Mr. LOGAN

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, arising out of the loss of the oil-tanker "La Crescenta," with all hands, he is aware that the master of the vessel wrote to relatives on 6th July last from Los Angeles, to the effect that they had had a. bad break down at sea during the preceding week; that a member of the crew, in a letter to a relative, stated that the ship was getting very old, was continually breaking down, and that there had been a dispute about the cost of engine repairs at Los Angeles; and whether, in view of these circumstances, he will cause full inquiry to be held into the loss of this vessel?

§ Mr. RUNCIMAN

I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my deep sympathy, in which I am sure that the House will join, with the relatives of those lost in this disaster. Full enquiry is being made into the loss of the vessel. I should explain that the enquiry is necessarily taking somewhat longer than usual as the vessel was engaged mainly on trade between foreign countries and rarely visited this country. I am not aware of the facts given in the first part of the question but if the hon. Member has any definite information regarding the condition of this ship I should be glad if he would forward it to me.

§ Mr. LOGAN

Hi Michael, the ship you are seeking may be the oil tanker La Crescenta
that went down in 1935.

I have sent you an e-mail.
kind regards, Lorraine in sunny Mackay Qld.

this is surprising - usually when you google for something like this you get a stack of information, but there is absolutely nothing coming up for this ship

Hi Libby4
Thanks for your reply, sorry I had not realized that I had left his name out, it was Teifi Vaughan and his parents were Thomas and Cathrine Vaughan.

Have you tried googling, using the name of the ship?

This is my first time of posting so I hope youlle let me off if I make any mistakes.
I am trying to find out any information about an uncle of mine who was born in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire in Nov 1910 and was working as a cook aboard an Oil Tanker called 'La Crisanta' which sank in the Meditaranean Sea just before the outbreak of WW2. This is all the information I have I dont know when the sinking happened or why.
Could anybody help me find some info on this event/person or tell me where to search, I have been told before to search on Findmypast 'deaths at sea' but this seems only to be deaths during the war.
I will appreciate any info however small.
