Not sure of your time frame but they have started indexing BDM's http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/public/editable/themes/lifelong-learning/Localstudies.asp The burial records for all of the municipal cemeteries are available on microfilm at the Local Studies Centre at the City Library. A search of these records will allow you to find the name of the cemetery and grave number of the person you are seeking.
