Think age wise he would have been outside the limit as it was only raised to 51 in April 1918 .

Sorry Shirley, I beg to differ. My grandad came out of retirement and was killed in WWII, on active service, aged 54, so it's just as feasable that a skilled artillery man would come out of retirement in WWI, as manpower was even harder to come by then.

Logically if your Thomas Rosser was born 1865 the he would be 53 years old which is a bit old to have joined up

What makes you think he could be related to the person who was killed in WWI?

ok this is doing my head in now lol,im trying to find out if my grandad,thomas david rosser is related to the following person. his name is also thomas rosser he was in ww1 (regiment)R.F.A he was a gunner.his number is 247200 he's death date is 31st oct 1918.he was killed in action he's D.O.B is 1865 belive he was wed to lily ada rosser (pattenden)any help would be fab.hoping 2 hear from u soon yours zowie rosser
