it is possible i suppose she is listed as 17 on her marriage certificate and there are 30 years between them on census record i have found, but Isaacs age is open to discussion aswell!!

I will see if i can finda marriage for John and Margaret and then a birth for their catherine, My catherines marriage certificate says Ann Dugan as mother so maybe Margaret and Ann are both Dugans?

Thank you for your help

In the 1841 census there is a John McKenzie who is in the army at the Woolwich Arsenal. His wife is Margret they are both 40 in 1841 they have Donald 11, Mary 9.Catherine 5 and Jane 3 living with them is Mary Mason age 60. Perhaps this is the family. Catherine being that bit older makes a more sensible age for her to marry 1856. Irene

Can't find a marriage in England.

What information do you have on your 3xgrandmother? What was her name? Who, where and when did she marry? How do you know John was in Dundee in 1856?

I am looking to see if John McKenzie and Ann Dugan married in England during the 1830-50's they are my great x4 grandparents and I have very little information on them and my great x3 grandmther. I wondered if by finding there marriage certificate it would help in finding her birth. John was in the army and moved to Dundee at some point prior to 1856.
Thanks
