You could try the OPC for Penzance - http://www.cornwall-opc.org/Par_new/n_p/penzance.php.

Also, all census until 1901 that is, are free online for Cornwall, having been transcribed by volunteers.

I see from his marriage entry that he was Charles William, not William Charles.

This could be him in 1901 (mistranscribed):

I can't find a birth reg for him under Beatty. The closest I could find is this:

Either way, you'll have to get the marriage cert - otherwise how will you know that the census entry is him (i.e. confirm that his father was Charles).

hi
i cant afford to buycerts this month and if anyone could help me to find someone that would be a big help.
i have a
william charles beatty c1896 born penzance in cornwall
dont know parent names
he was in the duke of cornwalls light infantry during ww1
discharged 1915
married charlotte gagen in 1917 in warrington lancashire and lived there till he died in 1963.
i cant find him on the 1891 or 1901 census
any help would be great
or otherwise will have to wait till next month and send off for thier marriage cert.
just off to bed now but will catch up in the morning
